Columbia

United States of Columbia

One of the birthplaces of democracy, a sprawling nation with endless ambition, an elected presidency and a bicameral legislature

Historical Events

Country lore and historical record

1100 AD: A Humble beginning.

14 tribes at the southern tip of the island, near the Bay of Madrona, merged to seek unity and rival the northerners.

1150 AD: The Great migration

The Great Migration was a major period of population growth in Colombia, as migrants from the north and the mainland to the east settled among the 14 tribes. They brought new cultures, languages, traditions, and technologies, creating a more diverse and connected society. Santa Roque and Sugnuto became major cultural centres, helping shape the shared identity of the region.

1184 AD: The Leadership criris

The Leadership Crisis was a period when the 14 tribes struggled to sustain the growing population and maintain law and order. As the situation worsened, the tribes agreed that a central leader was needed and founded the Real Corona, an institution responsible for leading the kingdom. The first tribe to hold power was the Sugnuto Clan, whose influence and wealth had grown through its control of the city of Sugnuto. Under the Sugnuto rulers, Colombia began expanding beyond its established territories, leading to the conquest of new lands to the west of the developed civilizations.

1214 AD: War for the Throne.

The Throne of Columbia has been in the hands of the Sugunto clan for too long, and the nation's other 13 tribes have rebelled against the Corona. The 13 Tribes want to have more power in the nation and be able to vote on treaties and work towards a democracy. The tribes sent the ultimatum, but the Real Corona rejected it, thereby starting the civil war.

1234 AD: Victoria

The 13 tribes defeat the Real Corona at the siege of Casillas, the fort named after the first King of Colombia, Casillas. To mock the Sugunto regime and to symbolise the end of the Sugunto clan's dynasty, the 13 clans renamed Fort Casillas to Castle Victoria, symbolising their victory.

2013 AD: Economic boom

The manufacturing sector has attracted interested and foreign investors has come to the nation to invest. The Nation gets a large immigration wave fueled by rich investors and young workers who want to benefit for the new job opportunities in the sector.

Constitutional Convention
139d left
Constitutional Convention Temporary

Called by the head of government or the monarch, or held automatically in a new country's first year. For one year the usual constitutional-change cooldown is suspended, so a new package can be opened as soon as the previous one closes, and the cost of opening a constitutional change package is capped at 75 PP however many changes it contains. Only one package can be open for voting at a time and voting thresholds are unchanged. Once the convention ends, another cannot be called for 10 years. It does not skew elector positions or change salience — its effects are purely on the constitutional change mechanics.
