Magna Taura

Res Publica Imperialis Magna Taura

In the vast expanse where history and destiny converge lies Magna Taura, the "Lux Perpetua" state—a sanctuary of order forged in the crucible of a thousand-year struggle. It is the Empire of Centuries of Fighting, a nation that does not merely inhabit its land but hallows it through the sacred duality of strength and spirit. Here, the soil itself seems to forgive and pray, bearing witness to a civilization that has traded the chaos of conquest for the sublime art of mediation and resolution.Magna Taura stands as a monumental achievement of political architecture, a Roman-style nation where the scales of power are held in a delicate, unbreakable balance. It is governed by a trinity of wisdom: the Consul Regis, who provides the steady heartbeat of the state; the Plebis Tribunus, the vigilant voice of the people; and the Senatus Iuris, the guardians of law. From the verdant fields overseen by the Agraricsque Oikounomía to the celestial frontiers guarded by the Icari Modernus, every facet of life is woven into a Cursus Honoris Sapientiae—a path of honor and wisdom. With a heart that beats in Spanish and a soul anchored in the virtues of antiquity, Magna Taura is not merely a country, but a promise: a bastion of stability designed to prevail for another millennium under the undying glow of its perpetual light.

Historical Events

Country lore and historical record

1634 AD: The Duchy of Leonstria unites with the Counties of Burgantia and Regina Aliminae

The soul of Taura is being formed; the ceremony concludes faithfully with the desire of a united Marcam Bellicam. A great State has emerged from the shadow of horrible wars with a pure goal: Glory and Brightness.

1679 AD: Victory over Jihaslutam and coronation of Lavinius II Magnanimus

For over three centuries, the various duchies and marches of Marcam Bellicam bravely, patiently, and relentlessly resisted the invasions of the Jihasluta. It seemed that the Jihasluta, ancient invaders from distant lands who migrated north, possessed abundant resources, an inexhaustible army, and a long and storied military tradition. In 1667, King Ilgamirj I, son of Effanouir II and Yasminazh of Vajarhsa (present-day Virtarbs), died in a plot orchestrated by his lieutenants. The country was plunged into civil strife, which was exploited by the Western sovereign, Lavinius the Younger of Groetia (later known as Lavinius II Magnanimus), to eliminate Barhabhas, the spiritual leader of the declining Jihaslutam. The Battle of Fermagusta in 1669 was hard-fought, long, and bloody, but it was worth it, as it ended Igharimen rule and their dissolution. Finally, in 1679, all the territory for which they had fought for 300 years fell under the rule of Lavinius, crowned King Augustus in the Cathedral of Saint Margaret Laeta, after capturing the last invader stronghold: the city of Macondia, east of Linarae. Every May 14th, this day is celebrated as Liberation Day.

1720 AD: Calamitas Taurica

In the year 1720, Magna Taura endured one of the gravest trials in its early formation, remembered as the Calamitas Taurica. What began as a season of relentless storms across the Iberian territories soon turned catastrophic: rivers overflowed, harvests failed, and entire settlements in the southern plains were swallowed by flood and famine. Trade routes collapsed, and unrest spread among the rural populations. Amid the crisis, the delicate balance of governance was tested. The Plebis Tribunus demanded immediate relief for the suffering masses, while factions within the Senatus Iuris hesitated, fearing the erosion of legal order. It was the Consul Regis who ultimately intervened, invoking extraordinary authority to redistribute grain reserves and mobilize reconstruction efforts. Though devastating, the Calamitas Taurica became a defining moment—strengthening central coordination and embedding the principle that the state must act decisively in defense of its people, a legacy still remembered in Magna Taura’s institutional identity.

1867 AD: The Legacy of the "Pax Taurina"

Inspired by the administrative structure of Roman Hispania, Magna Taura consolidated a transoceanic empire during the 19th century. Under a system of provinces united by a common language and civil law, the nation served as a beacon of "Social Capitalism" across the Mediterranean and the Atlantic. However, the colonial disasters at the end of the century initiated a period of introspection and economic stagnation.

1919 AD: Nogarolis School

Nogarolis is a small village in the region of Magnosia. After years of outstanding books and essays, the philosopher and writer Marcus Caesar created the Praetoriani school, where new philosophers, writers and musicians shot up to fame. For example, the musician Wilhelmus Romae, whose operas were a sold out at La Sede Theater (operas in latin) Other clear example are the poet Vergilius Arcusae; or the theist philosopher Martinus Marcus Caesar created an ideal place in La Sede Palace, a place that became a debate venue where every topic was discussed. This generation is called the Nogarolis School, who was the start of a golden age for the Latin language between 1919 and 1994

1975 AD: Death of the Kaiser Benaxis

The 20th November 1975, Carlus Ariae told to the nation "Taurae. Benaxis mortuus est". Yes, the Kaiser died after 39 years ruling the country, but without an effective successor. His son, Claudius Schaevolae was married with a black woman. As a consequence, he cannot rule due to the succession laws. After Benaxis' funeral, a marxist socialist soviet republic was proclaimed. The people wanted a change, but they didn't know that marxism is an utopia...

1976 AD: The Mirage of Proletarian Enlightenment

After decades of an eroded parliamentary monarchy, the 1980s brought an unprecedented debt crisis. Into this vacuum stepped the "Intellectuals of Praxis," led by academic figures trained in European neo-Marxism.What began as a reform to achieve "Universal Justice" devolved into a bureaucratic tyranny. Forced nationalization and agrarian collectivization—based on a rigid interpretation of Oikounomía—caused production to collapse. Academic freedom was replaced by dogma, and the "Lux Perpetua" faded under energy blackouts and rationing cards.

1994 AD: The Seven Years of Iron: The Civil War

In 1994, resistance from traditional sectors and the urban petite bourgeoisie triggered the conflict. The state fragmented. It was here that the Taura Free Corps (Cuerpos Francos de Taura) emerged—professional militias of veterans and citizens who refused to accept the dissolution of the national identity.Among their leaders, Colonel Ambrosio Prieto stood out. During seven years of urban and mountain warfare, Prieto and the Free Corps not only fought revolutionary militias but also maintained humanitarian corridors and protected the legal treasures of the Senatus Iuris. In 2001, following the fall of the intellectual bastion in the capital, the Treaty of Reconciliation was signed, restoring Roman-style institutionality.

2002 AD: The Decade of Restoration

The country emerged from the revolution in ruins. Ambrosio Prieto declined absolute power, insisting on a return to the republican-imperial order. The "Great Bureaucratic Purge" began to dismantle inefficient socialist structures. The economy reopened to the market, but under strict public ethics supervision to avoid the chaos that plagued other post-socialist nations.

2003 AD: The return of the exiliated royal fammily

After months of negotiation, Ambrosio Prieto let the grandson of the former Kaiser Benaxis be educated in Magna Taura. Nevertheless, the royal family will return as a normal citizen. Prieto said "if they want back their castles, they must work and rebuild the nation". Sir Marcus Schaevolae has a new challenge: He has to convince the people that he is the ideal person to rule the country. Monarchists are a clear minority in the country. Moreover, most of them think that he isn't the legitimate successor, so it is a hard challenge.

2007 AD: The big Bone's legislature

After an election where death people voted, the Big Bone became president of Magna Taura. What did he do? Not only did he cooperate with the drug mafia, but also printed bills to buy some cans of beer. Remember: he did not pay the brunch to the people who worked for him; they paid his brunch.

2010 AD: The burn of Linares Forest

The leader of the liberal party, Adrianus Cucurellae, tried to organise a coup d'état to abolish slavery. That's why the Army prepared an operation to catch him. However, Adrianus committed a suicidue and burnt the Linares forest and Escobonus Pinus (an enormous pine tree of 50 m high). Moreover, the Linares City (also called "Linarae") couldn't avoid the flames, so that hundreds of buildings were burnt, and also thousands of people died The country was in national bereavement for years. Neverteless, the city was rebuilt strarting with the ancient Imperial Castle, and the ancient Pluto Temple (nowadays is a church)

2011 AD: The Milionaire Raid

After months of preparation, the Legio XVI arrested the big Bone mafia. The president of Magna Taura left the country

2013 AD: Liberal threat in Magnosia, Linarae municipality

Magnosia, one of the most fertile regions of the country, is feeling the effects of the war's upheavals and the tense situation created over twenty years by the tyrants. Its capital, Linarae, is full of overseers from the old liberal movement, which was cornered and subdued—faring better than the optimates and the devout. These men resign themselves to embracing the fertile ideas of the classical revolution of the parties that emerged after the pacification by the Illustrious Ambrosius (may God have him in his glory). And they shout in the streets that the tyranny is being overthrown for the benefit of other, more notorious tyrannies; undoubtedly, this malicious resentment is gaining them considerable popularity. Deception is being sown in Linarae, and its bewildered populace accepts it half-heartedly. The threat is being built on creeping shadows...

2014 AD: The Crown of Magna Taura established

A monarchy has been established in Magna Taura. Nominations for the throne are now open.

2014 AD: Magna Taura in 2014: The Resurgence

Today, in 2014, the nation celebrates thirteen years of civil peace. The legacy of the Seven Years of Iron lives on through Luis Prieto, Ambrosio’s son, who oversees the stability of the Cursus Honoris from his position within the military and civil establishment. Although scars of the intellectual tyranny remain—industrial zones still in recovery and a generation marked by exile—Magna Taura has regained its status as an international mediator. The sun of 2014 shines upon a nation that, after tasting the abyss of a failed utopia, has returned to the security of law, strength, and tradition. However, Sun can burn things alive, too...

Constitutional Crisis
44d left
Constitutional Crisis Temporary

Triggered when a reigning monarch overreaches: either by vetoing a bill that had cleared the legislatures, or by taking an executive action while the Crown holds a constitutional power. While this mood is active, the bar for abolishing the monarchy is halved — a vote to abolish that would otherwise have required (say) 80% support now needs only 40%. Pure abolish-monarchy reform packages can also be opened even if the country is still within its usual constitutional-change cooldown. The mood lasts 90 days, and the clock resets each time the monarch overreaches again in that window. It does not skew elector positions or change salience — its effects are purely on the constitutional change mechanics.

Constitutional Convention

Constitutional Convention Temporary

Called by the head of government or the monarch, or held automatically in a new country's first year. For one year the usual constitutional-change cooldown is suspended, so a new package can be opened as soon as the previous one closes, and the cost of opening a constitutional change package is capped at 75 PP however many changes it contains. Only one package can be open for voting at a time and voting thresholds are unchanged. Once the convention ends, another cannot be called for 10 years. It does not skew elector positions or change salience — its effects are purely on the constitutional change mechanics.
