Ludenholm
Renowned for its stunning fjords and marvellous mountains, the Federal Republic of Ludenholm has a cold climate and mountainous terrain. Yet the fjords and valleys have allowed millions to settle and live prosperous lives. Ludenholm is held up by its booming mining and fishing industries, as well as tourism and now tech. Ludenholm is a federal republic made up of 17 states.
Following a long period of internal strife, a coalition of Republican forces overthrew King Knut IV, who had tried to align the nation with far-right nations nearing the Great War. The revolution a success, the king was exiled, and a presidential republic was established in his place.
In 1972, Ludenholm's Cabinet decided to cut taxes, enact austerity measures, and encourage foreign investment into Ludenholm's economy. This economic plan worked with the clever management from Ludenholm's then Independent-led (non-partisan) government. By 1978, Ludenholm's economy had grown enormously, along with the standard of living; leading to Ludenholm becoming a true developed nation.
In 1984, due to economic mismanagement by the administration in power, the President sought to federalise several large scale mines across Ludenholm. Aiming to turn charts green, the administration accelerated operations in these facilities despite warnings. As a result of these actions, infrastructure in two of the mines collapsed, which resulted in the tragic loss of nearly 250 lives. What began as a series of small protests against the President for his negligence snowballed into nationwide protests demanding change after officers killed a popular political activist during the demonstrations
In 1986, Ludenholm transformed from a presidential republic, with a legislature known as 'the Cabinet', to a parliamentary one. A new parliament house was constructed to house the new legislatures, and is known as Ludenholm Nasjonalhuset.
Due to the increasing unemployment rates and aging population, many middle to old aged individuals are stuck in the streets of big cities. The homeless individuals have began establishing encampments in several main city parks and other public locations.
