Novograd

Socialist Republic of Novograd

In 1973, a group of impoverished workers set out to create the world's first equal state. They found a lush forest region with mountains full of natural recourses like iron ore, gold, and rare earth elements. Thus, the Socialist Republic of Novograd of founded where every citizen worked with each other to create a more prosperous future.

Novograd has a 100 membered Worker's Congress, where every Congress-person is the local head of one of the 100 districts. The Congress also elects the Head of State, who is called the Chairman. The Chairman makes national decisions. The Congress also appoints the Heads of the Worker's Council, with each Worker's Council representing and helping Workers in a industry, as well as advising the Chairman on affairs.

In the decades since it was founded, Novograd has grown to a population of 40 million. They are heavily industrializing with the vast resources they have. They hope to become a global industrial superstate, where every worker gets the rights they deserve.

Historical Events

Country lore and historical record

1973 AD: October Revolution

Socialist Republic of Novograd with the Communist Regime, Tsar is executed and Worker's Congress has taken the power.

2021 AD: The War for protection

Recently a mineral rich area was found in the upper north border of our country and that area was scarcely populated because of ut being a plateau region when the geologers from the world published a study about this our country rightfully claimed our right over that region but a monarchy known as Genas wanted to exploit that region and use it for themselves so they advanced into the country and so after we found out a war began and the country was drawn into chaos our country was being pushed back because of the lack of any military supporter in the country and due to an unfortunate sequence of events there had to be forced conscription and only then was our country able to resist. Now both countries are in a stalemate and an agreement over the share of resources and our people are unhappy with the situation. This has caused public sentiment to drop and it has impacted all the economic sectors of our country thus leading us to a future where radical reforms are being demanded. Constitutional Convention
304d left
Constitutional Convention Temporary

Called by the head of government or the monarch, or held automatically in a new country's first year. For one year the usual constitutional-change cooldown is suspended, so a new package can be opened as soon as the previous one closes, and the cost of opening a constitutional change package is capped at 75 PP however many changes it contains. Only one package can be open for voting at a time and voting thresholds are unchanged. Once the convention ends, another cannot be called for 10 years. It does not skew elector positions or change salience — its effects are purely on the constitutional change mechanics.
