Republic of Cyurisia

Cyursia, officially Republic of Cyurisia, is a coastal eastern European country that has recently gotten out of a civil war and democratized. Gaining independence in 1965, Cyursia quick descended into chaos, with eventually becoming a dictatorship from 1978 to 2024. The country entered its second civil war in 2011 after then dictator Georg Kaas refused to step down. The office of Governor-President was established after 2024, as a much weaker form of the President, with the addition of the office of the Prime Minister being reestablished, after being abolished in 1980.

The Great Disillusionment
71d left
The Great Disillusionment Temporary

A country in the grip of political fatigue. Voters haven't shifted their views — they still hold positions — but they've stopped caring as much. Low salience across the board means elections are less about conviction and more about who turns up. The Great Disillusionment doesn't pick a side; it just dims the signal. The practical effect is that elections become noisier: strong positions count for less because fewer people feel strongly about anything.
