Legislatures

The The Grand Assembly is elected every 12 months (currently 5)
every 5 months
every 12 months
Electoral Reform Amendment: This amendment extends the period between elections from five months to twelve months in order to promote stability, reduce the costs of constant campaigning, and allow elected officials to focus on governing rather than perpetual electioneering. Annual elections remain frequent enough to ensure accountability while providing voters with a meaningful opportunity to judge representatives based on their actual performance. By reducing political churn and encouraging long-term decision-making, this reform strengthens responsible government without diminishing the rights of the electorate.
The The Upper Council is elected every 12 months (currently 5)
every 5 months
every 12 months
Upper Council Reform: The amendment preserves the people's right to regularly replace their representatives while creating a more stable political environment. Annual elections remain frequent enough to ensure accountability but provide enough time for administrations to govern effectively and for voters to evaluate their performance based on results rather than campaign rhetoric.

Proposer's case

This amendment proposes extending the interval between national elections from five months to twelve months. The purpose is not to reduce democratic accountability, but to improve governmental stability, reduce the costs associated with constant election campaigns, and allow elected officials sufficient time to implement and evaluate policy.

Under the current system, elections occur so frequently that public officials are often forced into a perpetual campaign cycle. This can encourage short-term decision-making, political opportunism, and legislative instability. By extending terms to one year, representatives will have greater opportunity to focus on governance rather than continuous campaigning.

The amendment preserves the people's right to regularly replace their representatives while creating a more stable political environment. Annual elections remain frequent enough to ensure accountability but provide enough time for administrations to govern effectively and for voters to evaluate their performance based on results rather than campaign rhetoric.

This reform seeks to balance democratic oversight with effective government, promoting stability, efficiency, and responsible administration without diminishing the fundamental rights of voters.
