The rights to free speech, free press, peaceful assembly, free petition, and lawful association shall not be abridged.

The people shall be secure in their persons, homes, property, papers, and communications against unreasonable searches and seizures. No warrant shall issue except upon probable cause and particular description.
No person shall be deprived of life, liberty, or property without due process of law; compelled to testify against himself in a criminal case; twice placed in jeopardy for the same offense; or have private property taken for public use without just compensation.
In criminal prosecutions, every accused person shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial before an impartial jury, to notice of the charges, to confront adverse witnesses, to compel witnesses in his defense, and to the assistance of counsel.
The right to trial by jury in substantial civil disputes shall be preserved. Excessive bail, excessive fines, and cruel or unusual punishment are prohibited.
All persons are entitled to equal protection of the laws, regardless of sex, race, or creed. No government shall deny any person due process of law.
