“This increase defence spending will safeguard Saxenheim, though A23 would have liked to see more spending in other sectors.”
Defence spending adjustment
Proposed by Alliance For Digital Freedom And Rights · Passed 11 Sep 2024
Rationale
As explained in our official pledging, we have opposed higher defence spending for many years, but circumstances have changed. Saxenheim’s economy and budgetary situation is in excellent health and we can now afford to address a persistent gap in defence spending without undermining our other priorities, welfare and instruction above all. This is a pragmatic adjustment, not a rejection of our commitment to fiscal responsibility and welfare State, made to answer a long-standing citizens' request: we're still not totally convinced, but the recent Drumagh crisis and many electors' requests (including part of the centre-left ones) have pushed us to change our mind. We stress the shift isn't major and it's absolutely sustainable.
Figures show the previous budget where they changed the new value.
