Raise environment & climate spending
Issued by the voters of Nördereich on Aug. 1, 2024.
Thirty-one measly dollars per person for the environment? That’s a joke. We’re not asking for some pie-in-the-sky dream—we’re demanding it doubled to six hundred dollars per person, because if we don’t act now, who will? The planet isn’t waiting around for half-measures, and neither are we.
The numbers behind the demand
Pledges (2)
“Our government will build a cleaner, stronger and more prosperous country while keeping every promise financially responsible. We will raise environmental and climate spending to $600 per person, investing in clean energy, pollution control, reforestation, waste management and climate resilience. We will protect households from excessive cost increases while creating jobs through green infrastructure and new industries. We will strengthen healthcare, education, public infrastructure and essential services, with funding directed toward measurable improvements. We will support businesses and workers through skills training, innovation and fair economic policies. Every major pledge will have a clear budget and timeline, with transparent annual reports so citizens can see what was promised, what was spent and what was achieved. Our principle is simple: listen to the people, fund our commitments responsibly, and deliver what we promise.”
