How can we call ourselves a civilised society when we spend just $1486 a year per retiree—35% below what our peers spend—while other countries do right by their elderly at $2288? We’re not asking for a handout, we’re demanding to be treated fairly, with at least $2200 per person so our seniors aren’t scraping by while the rest of the world gives them dignity.
