Cut income tax for low earners

Issued by the voters of Götaland on Jan. 1, 2021.

Twenty percent on the lowest wages is highway robbery when people are barely scraping by—it’s time to slash that to ten percent and stop bleeding dry the ones who need every penny just to get by. The politicians act like it’s some grand sacrifice to help the poor, but the poor are the ones being crucified, so cut the tax and let them keep what little they have. If you’re struggling to put food on the table, the last thing you need is the government taking another fifth of your paycheque.

Off the hook

“The People’s Unity Front solemnly pledges: if elected on February 21st or soon after taking office via coalition agreement later this month — we will immediately introduce an emergency amendment bill titled **"Low-Income Tax Relief Act of 2021. This bill will reduce personal income tax rates from their current level of up to 20% down to no higher than 15%, phased over three months beginning April. For those earning below median wage ($38K annually), taxes drop further—to exactly **9%** by June. We’ll fund these cuts without raising other taxes or cutting public services by redirecting savings from canceled corporate subsidies—and reallocating some discretionary spending away from luxury infrastructure projects toward immediate household relief. Our priority is simple: let working families keep more of what they earn so rent gets paid… food stays on tables… kids stay warm…”
