Cut income tax for high earners

Issued by the voters of Charlemont on Aug. 1, 2024.

Our top rate of 50% is 14 points higher than what our peers charge, and that’s just punishing hard work—while the rest of the world rewards it at 36%. Why should Charlemont slap a 50% penalty on success when other countries say 35% is plenty to keep things running? This isn’t about fairness, it’s about the politics of envy, and we’re sick of seeing aspiration crushed under the weight of a tax that’s way out of line.
