Liberal Platform
Voted Dec. 15, 2024
No

“The Liberal Platform votes no. We support restoring a professional voluntary military — Wëlstere has had none since last year's radical reforms, and we intend to fix that ourselves. But the rest of this package goes too far: letting industry set its own pollution standards and scrapping vehicle emission limits removes real protection against harm imposed on people who never consented to it, and pushing fossil fuel extraction and AI development past the careful limits we set in our own laws is a bigger bet than one vote should make. Growth matters to us — it is the core of our record this year — but not at the cost of letting companies externalize damage onto everyone else. We would support Article 5 on its own merits in a future proposal.”
