“The Liberal Platform cannot support this proposal. Abolishing our armed forces is reckless in an uncertain world; a professional, voluntary military already respects individual liberty. A maximum wage cap punishes success and tells every entrepreneur that ambition has a ceiling. Cutting the working week to 35 hours strips employers and employees of the freedom to agree on what works for them. Lowering the retirement age to fifty would collapse the fiscal discipline Wëlstere has just begun to rebuild. We do agree education should extend to eighteen — we are pursuing that reform ourselves — but one sound idea does not redeem a package built on state control and economic decline dressed up as social cohesion.”
