The Growth and Reserve Budget
Proposed by Liberal Platform · Passed 11 Oct 2024
Rationale
Wëlstere's recovery is real: GDP per capita has surpassed pre-crisis levels, unemployment is falling, and the debt-to-GDP ratio keeps improving. This budget turns that momentum into lasting strength. It cuts income tax for low- and middle-income workers again, asks the country's wealthiest, whose fortunes are least tied to daily labor, to contribute a larger share, and grows the surplus further to keep paying down the national debt and protect our AAA credit rating. It raises investment in education, business support, roads, and the energy grid — the same industries our own laws are already accelerating — while building a genuine stock of national infrastructure for the next generation, not just patching what wears out. A country that was last in the world is proving it can lead.
Figures show the previous budget where they changed the new value.
