“The prohibition negatively impacts both the working class and small enterprises.”
Single-Use Plastics Ban Act of 2019
Rationale
Single-use plastics harm both our ecosystems and human health: an outright ban improves environmental protection and public safety. Furthermore, recyclable plastic has virtually no disadvantages and might even boost innovation in Saxenheim's plastics sector.

| Party | Seats | Vote | Reason |
|---|---|---|---|
| Alliance For Digital Freedom And Rights Proposer | 16 | Yes | No reason given |
| Competence And Freedom | 8 | No | While we agree that phasing out single-use plastics is necessary, we think that an outright ban would be a too radical immediate step, and it should be implemented gradually to allow businesses to transition smoothly. |
| Homeland Alliance | 16 | No | The prohibition negatively impacts both the working class and small enterprises. |
| Left Forward | 13 | Yes | Reducing plastic waste is the right goal. But the transition has to work for everyone, not just for those who can afford higher prices. Reusable and sustainable alternatives should become the obvious choice because they are just as accessible and affordable as single-use plastics. Environmental policy succeeds when people can take part in it without paying more at the checkout. |
| Saxenheim Republic | 6 | Yes | We are supporting the argument as this is measures is definitely needed in this polluting era |
| Saxenheim Workers’ Union | 0 | No | Environmental protection should be balanced with the needs of the national economy. An outright ban on single-use plastics places unnecessary burdens on domestic industry and consumers. A measured approach that encourages innovation and responsible use is preferable to blanket prohibitions. |
