“The nation’s fundamental symbols should not be treated as ordinary political matters. Constitutional protection provides stability, preserves national continuity, and ensures that changes to the flag, anthem, or official language cannot be made casually by a temporary parliamentary majority. These symbols belong to the nation as a whole and deserve the strongest protection available under the Constitution.”

Amendments
Proposer's case
We strongly believe that a national flag should be approved with as wide a majority as possible. Considering that in the future it might be possible to amend it, we believe that a constitutional provision chaining down the Parliament is better repealed. The same holds true for the national anthem, which may be approved with an ordinary law, and language policies, which should be flexible and adapt to society.
