Voting record

Every vote must state a public reason. Most recent first.

“This left-wing bill is a demagogic measure that will destroy small businesses and wreck employment for the most vulnerable. By imposing an exorbitant minimum wage completely disconnected from economic realities, this text stifles the competitiveness of our companies and dooms youth and the unskilled to mass unemployment. Trying to solve poverty by bureaucratic decree is to profoundly ignore the most basic laws of economics. Instead of boosting activity, this dogmatic policy penalizes effort, increases burdens, and plunges our productive fabric into a dead end. It is an employment-destroying machine under the guise of good intentions. We vote no!”

The United Conservatives
Voted June 30, 2022
No

“This will cause layoffs due to companies not being able to afford the high minimum wages, as of now, the minimum wage is supposed to provide a foothold for people to transition to higher, full-time jobs. Wages should be dictated on how scarce that specific skillset is, not the government telling companies what to do.”

No

“The current standard is viable, especially with our high unemployment, we simply cannot afford this now without increase the amount without jobs.”
