Solidarity Budget: Strong Families, Sound Finances
Proposed by People's Democratic Alliance · Passed 29 Jun 2023
Rationale
Marevia runs a structural deficit while the richest 2% of earners pay the same tax rate as a struggling worker. This budget fixes that. We cut taxes for low- and middle-income families, and ask high earners and the wealthiest households to pay their fair share. In return, we invest directly in what working people need: stronger social assistance, better healthcare, affordable housing, and education that opens doors. We also end wasteful corporate subsidies and trim lower-priority spending. The result is not a bigger deficit, but a real surplus — proof that solidarity and fiscal discipline go hand in hand. Prosperity shared, finances sound. #PdA ✊️
