Rationale

It's not the government's role to determine whether an individual should be allowed to drink alcohol at 2, 10 or 18 years old nor have a say whether people can or cannot buy stimulants. If the society has a demand, people will buy anyhow, illegally.

Proposed Changes

1

Stimulants Policy
Previous law
Full prohibition; possession criminalised, prison for repeat offences
Fully legalised, no restrictions

2

Alcohol Regulation
Previous law
Liberal policy (age 18; moderate tax; late opening permitted; public zones allowed)
No restrictions on alcohol (no age limit, no licensing, no taxes)

“The PESU strongly supports a more liberal approach to alcohol as well as cannabis. However, alcohol can strongly damage the development of children. We support a motion to sell wine and beer to people over 16 legally, but this proposition is highly dangerous.”
