Rationale

We need changes in the banking system to address the underperformance of the Mining & Metals, Automotive, and Agriculture & Food sectors—given that we are not granting these sectors sovereignty—though I advocate for light-touch regulation to still allow for competition and the free market.

Banking & Financial Regulation

ASTER
Voted June 19, 2023
Yes

“ASTER votes yes because a stable and fair financial system is essential to a society where opportunity is shared. We support reasonable banking regulation that protects the wider economy while preserving competition and allowing responsible private enterprise to thrive. Financial freedom should not mean freedom from responsibility. Carefully balanced rules can strengthen trust, stability, and equal opportunity without suffocating innovation. For ASTER, good institutions do not exist to control society, but to ensure that society does not lose control of its own future. #ASTER 🌠”
