Fair Growth & Opportunity Act

Proposed by Valmoire Social Democratic Alliance (VSDA) · Passed 9 Aug 2021

✅ Passed

Rationale

This proposal creates a fairer and more sustainable economy by combining targeted tax relief for low-income earners with greater contributions from those most able to pay. Revenue from higher earners will support stronger social welfare, education, housing, business development, and infrastructure. We will increase investment in education and skills, transport and infrastructure, and small businesses, expanding opportunity while strengthening long-term economic growth. Social welfare funding will provide greater security for households facing hardship. At the same time, retirement spending will be streamlined to ensure the system remains financially sustainable and resources can be redirected toward programs that expand opportunity for working-age citizens and future generations. Our goal is simple: lower barriers for those at the bottom, reward work and investment, support businesses, and ensure prosperity is shared across society.
