“Drug addicts deserve support, not a jail cell.”
Substance Decriminalization And Treatment Act of 2023
Rationale
We do not endorse using drugs. However, with laws so strict this creates many problems for us. Decriminalizing eases financial burdens on us as we no longer have to prosecute and imprison drug users and we instead create an environment where our people get the help they need without fear.

| Party | Seats | Vote | Reason |
|---|---|---|---|
| A Better Fjordheim | 11 | Abstain | We support treatment over unnecessary punishment and believe minor marijuana possession should not ruin lives, but this bill bundles that reform with a much broader decriminalization of harder drugs. A Better Fjordheim supports a more measured approach. |
| ASTER | 7 | Yes | ASTER judges a bill by what it does, not by who proposes it. Punishing addiction with a prison cell has never once cured it; treating people who use drugs as patients rather than criminals is what dignity actually looks like in practice. Redirecting resources from prosecution toward real treatment protects families and frees the state to care for people instead of processing them. We do not share the Solidarist Front's vision for Fjordheim, and we will say so plainly on other matters — but on this particular measure, the substance is sound, and pretending otherwise for the sake of opposition would be its own kind of dishonesty. ASTER votes Yes. |
| Democratic Liberal Platform | 3 | Yes | We support this proposal. |
| Fjordheim National Solidarist Front Proposer | 3 | Yes | No reason given |
| Movement For Socialism | 14 | Yes | We support this proposal |
| Socialist Union Of Workers | 0 | Yes | Drug addicts deserve support, not a jail cell. |
