Rationale

Fjordheim needs more homes, not more delay. This bill lets construction override local roadblocks so building keeps pace with demand, while capping rent increases at inflation, so working families are not priced out by the growth we are building together.

Proposed Changes

1

Housing Supply & Planning
Previous law
Strong national housing targets
Override local objections, build at scale

2

Rent Control
Previous law
Light stabilisation, mostly market rents

Voting record

Every vote must state a public reason. Most recent first.

Abstain

“ABF supports the bill’s major expansion of housing supply but opposes tighter rent controls. Because the proposal combines a necessary supply reform with greater market intervention, we cannot support the package as written.”

No

“Rent controls have been proven not to work and make matters worse. We are hence against this bill.”

“We support removing planning barriers and allowing the housing supply to respond to demand. However, rent controls interfere with voluntary contracts, discourage investment and risk reducing rental supply. Because this bill combines necessary deregulation with harmful price controls, we cannot support it in its current form for which we abstain.”
