“Export controls are a bit too strict but we can live with the proposal”
Fjordheim Peace and Accountability Act of 2023
Rationale
Fjordheim chooses restraint without ever choosing weakness: no first use of nuclear arms, no autonomous killing machines, no weapons sold abroad, full equality for women who serve, and lasting care for every veteran who already did.

| A Better Fjordheim | 8 | No | We support accountability, equal service for women and proper care for veterans, but this bill places unnecessary limits on Fjordheim’s ability to defend itself. A no frist use pledge restricts our strategic options, an outright ban on autonomous weapons goes further than the current system of mandatory human control, and banning all arms exports removes a legitimate tool of defence cooperation and industry. Responsible safeguards are preferable to blanket prohibitions. Fjordheim should pursue peace through credible deterrence, modern military capability and strategic flexibility, not unilateral restrictions that potential adversaries may not share. We support the bill’s equality provisions, but cannot support weakening our broader defence posture. Once ABF will get to power, one of our first demands will be to revoke this bill from Fjordheims law book, as it hurting Fjordheims basic defense capabilities. |
