Growth, Jobs and Dignity Budget
Proposed by ASTER · Passed 6 Jun 2024
Rationale
Fjordheim's economy is contracting and unemployment sits at 9.4 percent, yet our fiscal position has never been stronger: a AAA credit rating and debt at just 17 percent of GDP, far below the level that would raise our borrowing costs. Holding a surplus while people search for work is not prudence, it is neglect. This budget puts that fiscal space to work. It expands infrastructure and housing investment to create jobs directly, lifts education funding to build the workforce Fjordheim will need, strengthens social assistance to support families and demand, and ties new business support to retraining and green growth sectors. Tax rates remain untouched. This is not a burden placed on citizens, but a deliberate, affordable investment in Fjordheim's people and its future. Growth and dignity are not opposites; this budget is how we prove it.
Figures show the previous budget where they changed the new value.
