“Freedom is not something government grants us, it is something government must never take away. This act restores four fundamental liberties that had been buried under months of well-meaning restriction. The right to assemble should never require the state's permission slip. The right to walk through your own country without a mandatory government-issued card is the right to not be tracked, catalogued, and controlled. And the right to support the causes and candidates you believe in with your own money, your own voice is political speech, plain and simple. Big government has never once solved a problem by restricting a freedom. Trust the people to assemble peacefully, to defend their homes, to move freely, and to fund the ideas they believe in. That trust is the foundation of a free society. We urge every chamber to vote for liberty restored, not liberty managed.”

“We cannot accept this retrograde law, which undermines the fundamental principles of the dictatorship of the proletariat in this country.”
