“Sure why not we like this”
Republican Meritocracy and Excellency Act of 2021
Rationale
As university education is free and strictly state-run, we believe it would be sensible to establish institutions of republican excellence, accessible solely through competitive entrance examinations, and entirely free of charge, in order to promote young talent through meritocracy.

| Party | Seats | Vote | Reason |
|---|---|---|---|
| Centralist Unity | 17 | Yes | We are fully supportive of a society based on merit, as that will incentive innovation, skill and a fusion of hard and smart labor. |
| Libertarian Congress | 0 | Yes | Sure why not we like this |
| Radical Republican Union Proposer | 21 | Yes | No reason given |
| Revolutionary Maoist Communist Front | 42 | Yes | True equality is not pretending all talent is identical, it is ensuring every child of the people, regardless of birth or wealth, has the chance to rise through ability alone. Under capitalism, "elite education" means private schools bought by rich families. This proposal is different: entry decided by examination, not inheritance, and entirely free of charge. The Revolutionary Maoist Communist Front does not fear excellence, we fear excellence reserved for the bourgeoisie. By opening these institutions to all children on equal footing, we turn meritocracy into a weapon against class privilege, not a tool of it. The brightest children of workers and peasants deserve the same opportunities as the children of the wealthy. We remain vigilant, these schools must never become breeding grounds for a new detached elite. But as proposed, free, competitive, open to all, this reform serves the people's talent, not private wealth. We vote YES, while pledging to monitor its implementation closely. |
