Rationale

These changes narrow public ownership to natural monopolies and strengthen financial oversight, reducing state overreach while protecting citizens from systemic risks. “With the end of the global financial crisis, we are favorable to allowing for some more freedom in the sector, as we understand this can accelerate the recovery of Drumagh's economy. Furthermore, we understand that there's no more need for the State to completely control all key utilities and transport, instead adopting a position of regulating the private development in those areas.”

“Drumagh’s People’s Wing supports public ownership of natural monopolies because essential services should remain affordable, reliable, and focused on the public interest. We also support strong banking oversight to protect financial stability, reduce risky practices, and prevent future crises while allowing the economy to recover.”

“The so-called "return to normalcy" is nothing but a retreat to exploitation. When the state intervened during the 2020 crisis, it proved that collective ownership and public control protect the people far better than markets ever could. Now, at the first sign of stability, the bourgeois parties rush to hand our utilities, our transport, and our banks back to private capital, dressed up as restoring economic activity. The Revolutionary Maoist Communist Front rejects this counter-revolutionary rollback. Narrowing public ownership to natural monopolies abandons workers in every other key industry to the whims of profit. Softening capital controls into mere prudential oversight reopens the door to speculation, crisis, and financial parasitism. The people's industries belong to the people, permanently, not conditionally. We vote NO, and we call on all workers to resist this betrayal.”
