“We support the Trade unions, but mandatory membership is something that goes against the individual choice of new employees as well as being a bareer to employment and an economic strain.”

“Making mandatory and forcing union membership through measures such as banning the employment of those who aren't members in a closed shop system will only serve to benefit the union officials. This measure is severely antagonistic to the rights of workers to choose whether or not to join an union and will create a class of officials professional in deceiving workers. Furthermore, the alignment of union officials through bribery and corruption to favor degenerated and spoiled elites against dynamic ones is a possibility that can not be ignored. For these reasons, we vote NO.”

“We support strong trade unions and workers’ rights, but mandatory union membership takes away workers’ freedom to choose whether to join. Collective bargaining and the right to strike can be protected without forcing every worker into a union.”

“Although proposed by social democrats whose reformist illusions we fight, establishing mandatory unionization for all workers (closed shop) directly strengthens the working class's leverage against the bosses. By pulling workers out of division and isolation, this measure consolidates militant unionism and deprives companies of unorganized strikebreaking labor. It is a powerful tactical tool to solidify proletarian ranks, radicalize the masses, and prepare for the great overthrow of the capitalist order!”
