New Defence and Economic Satbility Budget

Proposed by Alliance · Passed 3 Oct 2024

✅ Passed

Rationale

Tax raises are temporary. We will do as much as we can to reduce them as soon as possible. But our debt is too high and requires shared efforts.

Figures show the previous budget where they changed the new value.

Voting record

Every vote must state a public reason. Most recent first.

No

“If they're going to raise taxes, at least compensate the working class with more investment in infrastructure, healthcare, and social welfare, because they're the ones who work every day, not these government bureaucrats who only collect their salaries while the working class suffers. We will reject this budget until our demands are met. And the debt issue is just an excuse to raise taxes on the people without remorse, oppressors!”

“This budget is extremely dangerous for workers and will condemn low-income earners to misery. We support a gradual tax increase to properly fund public services and increase defense spending just like our voters demand, but we cannot accept a 5% sudden increase on the lowest tier income tax. In fact, it is outrageous that the boldest increase is in the lowest income tier. In addition, the proposed spending goals do not benefit workers, but business people.”
