The Working Families Economic Defense Act

Proposed by Red Front Of Charlemont · Passed 13 Feb 2018

✅ Passed

Rationale

A shrinking economy requires bold action to protect the working class. This government believes in the dignity of work, which is why we are shifting our economic focus toward wage growth and job security. By passing this budget, we are immediately putting $30.7 billion back into the pockets of low and middle-income workers through targeted tax relief. To drive our economy out of this recession, we are running a strategic, temporary deficit to fund a historic expansion in infrastructure—building the foundation of our future while employing our citizens today. We have trimmed inefficient external spending to focus entirely on domestic job security, supporting the industries that employ our people, and strictly defending the pensions of our retired workforce. This budget proves that the best economic stimulus is a well-paid, secure working class.

Figures show the previous budget where they changed the new value.
