“Absurd and destructive proposals from the radicals on the left seek to undermine the foundations of our economic growth and our national character. Mandating union membership is no less than tyranny, as is the abolition of work-paths for over-16-year-olds. Unlimited strikes and 35-hour weeks would literally cripple our economy.”
Bessarion Union Strong Act of 2023
Rationale
Bessarion unions must be strengthened, so when we replace capitalism with socialism and eventually communism, they will be ready. We will also protect our children and let them learn, and also increase productivity with a 35 hour work week.

Against: 244 · Abstained: 99 · Not voted: 0
| Party | Seats | Vote | Reason |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bessarian Regency Committee | 99 | Abstain | We find the proposed changes to be far too wide in their scope, and potentially dangerous to the national economy should they come to pass. A controlled and negotiated settlement on the proposal is best. We do, however, agree with the spirit of the proposal and its desire to better the conditions of the working class. |
| Conservative People's Pact | 244 | No | Absurd and destructive proposals from the radicals on the left seek to undermine the foundations of our economic growth and our national character. Mandating union membership is no less than tyranny, as is the abolition of work-paths for over-16-year-olds. Unlimited strikes and 35-hour weeks would literally cripple our economy. |
