Powers Reorganization Reform 17 measures

We need to reorganize who holds which power in Al-Shamaria. This change will modernize how Al-Shamaria is run.

Constitutional Convention In session

In session until the 31st of May 2025. The amendment cooldown is suspended, so a new package can be opened as soon as the previous one closes, and no package costs more than 75 PP to open.

Unsaved changes

We the people of Al-Shamaria do hereby establish this Constitution.

Name of the State

Art. I

The official name of the state shall be the The Kingdom of Al-Shamaria, known commonly as Al-Shamaria.

Constitutional Changes

Art. II

This Constitution may be amended only by a supermajority vote of greater than two thirds of all seats of the Legislative Assembly and greater than two thirds of all seats of the Supreme Council of State . No amendment shall take effect within 1 year of any previous amendment, nor may any amendment be proposed while another remains under debate.

Suffrage

Art. III

The right to vote shall belong to every adult resident: universal adult suffrage.

Elected Offices

Art. IV

The High Commissioner shall be directly elected by the people every 12 months. The candidate with the most votes wins. The Legislative Assembly may call a vote of no confidence in the High Commissioner, requiring 75% of those voting to pass. A bill that has passed the legislatures fails if the High Commissioner's party votes against it, abstention counting as a pass. Monarchy

Art. V

The The Crown of Al-Shamaria is a hereditary monarchy. The throne passes by nomination and selection when vacant, with the holder serving for life unless they abdicate. The Supreme Court

Art. VI

The Supreme Court of Al-Shamaria shall be the final arbiter of the law of Al-Shamaria. Any party may appeal to it on the ground that a law in force is unconstitutional, that a cabinet member or the holder of an elected office is acting illegally, or that a constitutional amendment is invalid. The Court shall hear the parties of Al-Shamaria, and its justices shall rule by majority. Its rulings take direct effect and are not subject to appeal.

Legislatures

Art. VII
